Driver Assist

Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Driver Assist Android application.

Last updated: August 11, 2026

1. Acceptance

By installing or using Driver Assist, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the application. You must be legally permitted to use the vehicle, adapter, device, and network involved.

2. Purpose of Driver Assist

Driver Assist provides informational, read-only OBD-II diagnostics and an AI assistant focused on vehicle diagnostics, technical condition, maintenance, repair, and safe operation. It is designed to help you understand available vehicle information and technical concerns. It is not a substitute for a qualified mechanic, an official service manual, professional inspection, emergency services, or your own judgment.

3. Vehicle and driving safety

Do not interact with Driver Assist while driving. Stop and park safely before connecting an adapter, reading information, entering messages, or acting on application content.

Stop driving and seek qualified assistance when warning lights, abnormal behavior, overheating, braking problems, smoke, fuel odors, loss of power, or other potentially dangerous symptoms occur. The absence of reported trouble codes or abnormal readings does not prove that a vehicle is safe or fault-free.

4. Read-only diagnostics

Driver Assist is designed to request standard read-only vehicle information. It does not intentionally clear diagnostic trouble codes, write ECU parameters, perform coding or adaptation, initiate actuator or active tests, or execute service procedures.

Vehicle and adapter implementations vary. Data may be incomplete, delayed, unsupported, incorrectly reported, or unavailable. You are responsible for verifying compatibility and using the application only with vehicles and adapters that you own or are authorized to access.

5. AI-generated information

The AI Assistant may produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate information. AI responses may misunderstand vehicle data or your question. Do not rely on an AI response as the sole basis for decisions involving driving safety, repairs, maintenance intervals, costs, legal compliance, or vehicle operation.

The AI Assistant is limited to vehicle diagnostics, technical condition, maintenance, repair, and safe operation. It may use general automotive knowledge only to explain those topics. It does not provide automotive trivia, brand history or marketing, news, motorsport or entertainment content, general buying rankings, programming help, code generation, or vehicle command generation.

Vehicle information presented as current is limited to data successfully read during the relevant request. General automotive knowledge or assumptions are not verified facts about your particular vehicle.

6. Acceptable use and your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • use Driver Assist lawfully and safely;
  • avoid using the application to access a vehicle without authorization;
  • not attempt to use the application or its services to issue write, security-access, output-control, or other unsafe vehicle commands;
  • not abuse, overload, disrupt, or bypass security controls protecting the application or its service providers; and
  • review important information with an appropriate professional before acting on it.

7. Third-party services

Driver Assist relies on Android platform services, Google Firebase services, Google Play Integrity, Cloudflare Workers and D1, and the Gemini Developer API. Cloud Firestore, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Authentication, and Firebase App Check are used only for their documented application functions. These services may be subject to separate terms, availability, quotas, and technical limitations.

When you choose to share an assistant response or diagnostic report, the receiving application and recipient control the shared copy under their own terms and privacy practices.

8. Availability and changes

Driver Assist may be updated, changed, suspended, or discontinued. Features may fail because of adapter compatibility, vehicle protocol differences, network availability, service-provider changes, quotas, maintenance, or other technical conditions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every vehicle, adapter, or Android device.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Driver Assist is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, vehicle compatibility, or uninterrupted operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Driver Assist is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of or reliance on the application. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the application, service providers, or legal requirements. Continued use after an update means that the revised terms apply from their stated effective date.
